Brecon Beacons

By Geogie and James

Year 6 went on a school residential to the Brecon Beacons in Wales. We left school on Monday 22nd May. On our arrival at the Brecon Beacon Adventure Centre, we put our luggage in our teepees. Our first activity was called bouldering, followed by a delicious meal cooked by the centres’ chefs. We loved sleeping in teepees even though the first night was freezing but over the next few days it got warmer.

Our Tuesday and Wednesday activities were ‘Tree Top Challenge’, this was a lot of fun but super scary. We also did a mountain rescue where we rescued a dummy dressed as King Charles, it was very exciting and energy wasting. We also did archery and artificial caving. On Thursday, we did high ropes, abseiling and horse riding which were all awesome to do.

In the evenings, the instructors came back to our village and entertained us. We did hill walking in the beautiful countryside, bottle shooting, ski-racing and orienteering.

We had an absolutely amazing time and we were sad to leave but we had to return home.
