Castlecroft v Palmers Cross
By Jacob
We played a home football match against Palmers Cross Primary School on Monday 30th January. I was chosen to be the captain of a very good team who supported each other well.
The game kicked off at 3.45pm on a cold, bright day. In the first few minutes of the game we were passing the ball to each other but Palmers Cross took the ball off us and had an attack on goal which deflected for a corner. From the corner the ball was crossed over and I came out and claimed it in the air, booted it to Tommy who took a touch and smashed it into the top corner of the net.
During our half time team talk we made some adjustments to the team, changing the formation, putting 4 at the back and Toby at the front on his own.
Second half took off quickly, we had an attack but unfortunately it went past the post. The keeper took the goal kick and sent it up the field which Toby intercepted. Calm and composed, he slotted the ball into the bottom corner of the net.
The game played on with lots of passing between both teams, communication was very important. After passing for a while, the ball got played to Elijah on the edge of the box, he took a touch and smashed it into the top corner to seal the game with a 3-0 win to Castlecroft.
The team supported each other well and communicated well with good sportsmanship.
