Year 4 had an activity afternoon in the hall with sports wheelchairs. We hopped into the wheelchairs with a buddy holding the back of the chair for us. We zoomed around the hall, racing each other and then manoeuvring around cones.
When we had finished we parked the wheelchairs up and jumped out with our buddy holding the back of the chair again.
Freya said “It is not as easy as walking, it’s a lot harder being in a wheelchair, it rubs your hands when you are turning the wheels.”
“It was a great activity; I was going to burst with excitement. I liked teaching my friends how to move the wheelchair. I felt like I wasn’t being left out,” remembered Joey.
It was an AWESOME activity.
